Thomas Linzey, a longtime environmental lawyer who has pioneered innovative approaches that revoke corporate rights and implement rights for nature, is embarking on a speaking tour of Oregon in October.
Linzey, a powerful speaker who moves audiences, is a true revolutionary who speaks out about corporate power’s roots in the constitution and our entire system of law. “The system is fixed, and we need to break it,” he often says.
The Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund, the organization Linzey co-founded, has been instrumental in hundreds of communities across the US banning factory farms, sewage sludge, mining, and oil and gas extraction. CELDF also helped Ecuador to include rights for nature in their new constitution in 2008.
Organizers: Community Rights Lane County and the Lane Peace Center.
