On July 28th at 5:30pm, Deep Green Resistance in collaboration with regional allies Illahee Spirit Runners will be offering an outdoor skills workshop in the coast range near Eugene. This workshop will cover a variety of basic outdoor skills for survival and thriving in relationship with nature. It will be kid friendly.
How to Register
Anyone who wants to attend is encouraged to email eugene at deepgreenresistance.org or contact @deepgreenresistance on Wire app to register and receive details. Please bring water, snack, clothing and shoes for walking off trail, and if you have them any basic survival equipment — especially a knife (we recommend sturdy fixed-blade knives 3-7 inches in length).
Cost of Workshop
This workshop is free for black, indigenous, and people of color and for poor people. Those who have money and/or who are white are asked to pay for this workshop on a sliding scale, suggested donation $20.
Update on Our Activities
Funds will be used to support our ongoing organizing activities. You don’t see us online much because we are focused on organizing offline and in our communities. We are working on leadership development, training and skills, and relationship strengthening. We have continued to focus on mutual aid and community self-defense since the pandemic began, and have now held 4 mutual aid events in addition to a self-defense and political education series.
We are working on permaculture garden installation for poor people in our community and planning for an important decolonization event in the Fall. We are recruiting autodidacticos and people of good heart and radical analysis. Contact us if you wish to be involved in our work, or if you want to become an ally. We are building a radical regional network in the spirit of mutual aid and principled alliance. We can offer ourselves in service to your cause if it is a good one.
