The stark desert floors and sublime mountain peaks of the Great Basin are rarely a priority for many environmentalists. This needs to change. In a time when deforestation is intensifying climate change, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is laying waste to millions of acres of ancient pinyon-juniper forests across the Great Basin. Meanwhile, public lands ranching is causing so much desertification the region may soon look like Iran. Finally, the Southern Nevada Water Authority plans to steal water from rural communities to support Las Vegas. Come learn how you can help protect the Great Basin.
